A Belgrade to Zlatibor private transfer is a pre-booked door-to-door service. A public bus is a scheduled, multi-stop service departing from Lasta/BAS station in Belgrade city centre — not from the airport. A rental car offers flexibility but places the full responsibility for mountain road conditions and winter driving on the traveller. Here is an honest comparison.
The bus from Belgrade to Zlatibor (Lasta and Niš Ekspres lines) costs around €10–15 per person and departs multiple times daily. If you are a solo traveller on a tight budget, already in Belgrade city centre with minimal luggage, and your schedule is flexible around departure times, the bus is viable. Journey time is 4.5 to 5 hours with stops.
For any group of 2 or more passengers, the per-person cost of a private transfer becomes comparable to or better than the bus when calculated per person. For airport arrivals, the bus is not an option — BAS station is in the city, not at BEG.
