Line 72 runs from the airport to Zeleni Venac, a main bus hub in the city center. Journey time is 45–60 minutes with traffic. The bus makes many stops and has limited luggage space — if you're traveling with more than a backpack, it gets uncomfortable fast, especially during peak hours.
Line 600 is the newer option — it connects the airport directly to Beograd Centar (Prokop) railway station. Useful if you're continuing by train. Journey time is around 45–50 minutes.
Both buses depart from outside the arrivals terminal. At night, frequency drops significantly. If you land after 11pm, don't count on either line. Right choice for: solo travelers, backpackers, those staying near Zeleni Venac or with a connection at Prokop.
The A1 is a dedicated airport shuttle — faster than the city buses, with slightly more luggage space, and it terminates at Slavija Square. Cost is 400 RSD (approximately €3.40 at current rates). Tickets are bought on board or via the BusPlus app.
During the day, departures are frequent. During off-peak hours you may wait up to 30 minutes. The night service is sporadic — if you're arriving late, don't build your plan around the A1.
Slavija is not the city center — from there you'll need a tram, local bus, or short taxi to reach most hotels. Factor that in. Right choice for: budget travelers staying in the Slavija or Vračar area, daytime arrivals.
Belgrade airport taxis operate on a fixed zone system. A trip to the city center falls in Zone 2, with a fixed fare of approximately €40. The system exists to prevent the overcharging that was common before fixed fares were introduced.
One rule that matters: You must collect a fare voucher from the official Taxi Information Desk inside the baggage claim hall before going outside. Without it, the fixed fare doesn't apply. Anyone approaching you outside the terminal without a voucher is unofficial — avoid them regardless of what price they quote.
Taxis are available 24/7. For a solo traveler or couple with normal luggage, this is a perfectly reasonable option. For groups of 3 or more, a private transfer often works out at the same price or less — with a larger vehicle and a driver holding your name sign.
Uber does not operate in Belgrade. The two active ride-hailing apps are Bolt and CarGo (the local equivalent). Both work at the airport and in normal conditions offer fares between €18 and €25 to the city center.
The practical issues: surge pricing during peak summer arrivals can push the fare to €30 or more — at that point you're paying private transfer prices without the private transfer experience.
